Eva Nassif, a native of Lebanon, has been living in Laval with her husband and triplets for over 20 years. Eva has been a fundamentally important political and social figure through her involvement in many charitable organizations, membership within institutions offering services in her community, and engagement in the political realm with the Liberal Party of Canada. She has been an prominent activist for women’s rights and social and youth affairs.
Eva was a nursing sciences graduate in Lebanon where she practiced for eight years. After immigrating to Canada in 1993, she obtained a B.A. in Translation and then an M.A. in Translation Studies from Concordia University, having written a one-of-a-kind unique master’s thesis. Eva, a tireless worker, is a certified translator and terminologist. She has also worked as a teacher for the Laval School Board.
Since assuming office, Eva has acquired duties throughout several important portfolios on committees, in Parliamentary Associations, and Interparliamentary Groups. She is a member of the Standing Committee on the Status of Women, the Standing Joint Committee on the Library of Parliament, and was a part of the Special Committee on Pay Equity which has concluded its mandate, produced a report, and disbanded. Eva is also the Vice-President of the Canada-Lebanon Parliamentary Friendship Group, which met for the first time in 2016.
Eva’s dedication and perseverance knows no bounds. Her desire is to unite her passion and expertise to defend the interests of all citizens of Vimy.
