Today, Société de transport de Laval announced that it has launched its pilot project that will allow citizens to share 40 electric bicycles within Laval. I am proud that the government of Canada supports innovative initiatives such as this for free-service electric assistance in Laval. There are now bicycles available at the Concorde, Cartier, montmorency and Terminus stations from now until October. This is a first in the metropolitan area of Montreal.
The federal contribution for the integrated sustainable mobility pilot project with e-bikes is $57500. Our government continues to move forward with its commitment to sustainable solutions for infrastructure and transportation. Our environment is irreplaceable; funding green projects and finding green solutions will make Canada a global leader in environmental sustainability and conservation, while also taking a lead in emerging markets.
Congratulations to all levels of government and STL for making this happen. Let’s continue to make Laval a leader in sustainable development.
Information about the program will be posted here.
