After months of planning and waiting, the Vimy Constituency Youth Council has been formed. Our Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, has said that “young voices must be part of our decision making process” and that’s why Eva Nassif launched this new initiative to bring youth together from across Vimy to engage with the federal political process. On November 25th, 2016, the first meeting to elect members of the council to their positions took place and allowed Eva Nassif and participating youth to get to know each other before they meet again. While not everyone could make it to our first meeting, we are looking forward to having everyone in future meetings to take part in our deliberations.
Immediately below are the names of the individuals who attended the first meeting and the positions they took on:
Sarah Ghannoum – President
Maria Dina Hannouche – Vice President
Garvin Brutus – Secretary
Adib Menassa – Vice Secretary
Thomas Guillemette – Communication and Social Media
While the youth council has officially formed, our doors are never closed. Anyone who is interested in participating can still use the link below to submit their application to take part in this great experience to work with your local MP and help us make decisions for the future. We encourage anyone who submits an application to also send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to formally notify us of the intention. With the official application deadline having ended, we may not always check the application page in a timely manner.
